Coaching

As an Educational Technologist and Technology Coach, I employed The Dynamic Learning Project (DLP) coaching model, a comprehensive five-step process designed to enhance teachers' integration of technology in their classrooms. I supported all PreK-5 educators through the Technology Coaching Cycle for at least one quarter per school year, co-planning meaningful technology activities that fostered student creativity and agency within the school.  Additionally, I assisted teachers in a co-teaching environment during class visits, ensuring seamless integration of new tools. By implementing a micro-badging program and "Technology Brag Boards," I empowered teachers to set personal goals and celebrated their innovative use of technology. Furthermore, I highlighted classroom technology activities in schoolwide newsletters and the school kiosk to showcase our collective achievements.

Regular communication with the principal and district personnel kept me aligned with upcoming district initiatives and priorities. As a member of the DoDEA Champions program and AI in EDU teams, I stay informed about emerging technologies and current events that impact our organization. 

Micro Badging Program

The Micro Badging Program is designed to inspire and recognize creativity and growth in the classroom. Teachers can set personal goals and earn badges for their innovative use of technology tools. Teachers can celebrate their own achievements and those of their colleagues by collecting badges that showcase their growing expertise.

New badges have rolled out as new programs and initiatives are introduced, providing ongoing opportunities for professional development. Additionally, teachers can nominate co-workers for badges, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual recognition.

The micro badge categories I use align with the ISTE Standards for Educators, covering areas such as:

Learner

Designer

Collaborator

Facilitator

Citizen

Leader

Additionally, teachers can also earn badges by attending school Technology Professional Development sessions.

Highlighting Technology Use in the School: Tech Shout Outs

Technology Shout Outs are designed to spotlight classroom technology activities for visitors via a kiosk near the main office. Each quarter, a new presentation showcases the accomplishments of participants in the Technology Coaching Cycle, as well as other notable technology co-teaching activities that occurred outside of the official coaching group.

Communicating with Families Through School Newsletters

As the Educational Technologist, I am dedicated to showcasing the innovative use of technology in the classroom by both students and teachers. Through my newsletter articles, I highlight and celebrate their achievements, fostering a culture of enthusiasm and collaboration around technology. Additionally, I provide valuable digital citizenship tips to parents, ensuring they are well-informed and equipped to guide their children in safe and responsible online behavior. This combination of recognition and education contributes to a positive, tech-savvy school community.
