Osaka, December 2004

 


It takes 3 hours to get from Tokyo to Osaka by Bullet train. I was on my way to see the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum. On the way the train passes Mt. Fuji. I managed to get a few shots of the mountain from the train as we went by.

Osaka is far more confusing than Tokyo. There are less English signs and the directions in the subway are not as clear. But those I asked for help were very friendly and I made it to the Tezuka Manga Museum.

Another view of the Phoenix statue. They had many neat things such as his hat, glasses and desk. They also had a large Tezuka manga library featuring books in several languages and an anime station where you could watch full length movies and cartoons (if you knew what to look for as far as Japanese names go -- next time I go, I plan on bringing a list of things to look up ^_^; )

On the walk leading up to the museum they had the hand, feet, and sometimes nose prints of various Tezuka manga stars. This was Black Jack's cement block.
