Another view of some of the faces on the towers.

Walking up into some of the main towers.

More worn Nagas above a very worn Garuda. Garudas and Nagas are enemies but they are both used as guardian sculptures.

Nagas on a corner stone with slightly more defined features.

An easier to see Gaurda. Garudas usually have a half bird - half man apearance.

Close towers in Bayon.

A doorway.

An Apsara.

A lion carving.

A crumbling wall. Many of the temples in Cambodia were at one time consumed by the jungle. Many countries have entered the effort to reassemble temples that have been damaged.

A guardian with a downturned sword and an Apsara.

A small Apsara.

A guardian creature carving.

Patricia looking down from a wall.

A doorway with guardian and Apsara carvings.

Another Apsara and a guardian.

In the corner is a boat surrounded by fish.

Walls around the buildings.

A courtyard like area.

Patricia takes a break.

A reassembled carving sits on the ground.

Looking around a corner.

A balustrade with Nagas on the ends. This is a common motif and more examples can be seen at other temples.

Posts and lintels from a former covered walkway.

An outer wall of the temple.

Another view that inclues the tops of the towers in the distance.

A closer, wider view.

One more view.

Outside Angkor Thom is The Wall of the Leper King (also called the Terrace of the Leper King). An elephant protrudes from the corner of the wall.

Three elephants. Elephants are found on many temples in Cambodia, but this trio all have their trunks which, naturally, is one of the parts that most often breaks off.

Here I am sitting between the elephants.

Here is a view of Angkor Thom from The Wall of the Leper King.

Elephant motif runs along the wall.

Long view of The Wall of the Leper King.

A small temple across the road from The Wall of the Leper King.

More temples across the road.

More elephants along the wall.

Worn Garudas "hold up" the walkway on the top of the wall.

Garudas and corner elephants.

Downward view on two Garudas and another guardian in the middle.
